BBQ Yuba Ribs

The secret to these mouth-watering vegetarian BBQ yuba ribs is the BBQ sauce that you use. There are some tasty sauces from the health food store that contain all natural ingredients and come in a variety of exotic flavours.

Yuba Ribs

Ingredients

  • 200g dried bean curd sticks
  • ½ cup nutritional yeast
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons miso
  • 2 tablespoons warm melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • Water
  • 2 cups vegetarian barbeque sauce

Method

  • Soak the dried bean curd 4-6 hours or overnight in hot water.
  • Drain and cut sticks into 8-12 cm lengths.
  • Squeeze out excess water and drain.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Oil a cookie tray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix next 6 ingredients together to form a smooth paste.
  • Toss Yuba sticks in and mix until all sticks are evenly coated.
  • Lay side by side one layer thick, on the cookie tray. Bake 25 mins or until the bottoms are brown and crisp.
  • Remove from oven and put in mixing bowl with barbeque sauce.
  • Toss well.
  • Lay out on baking tray again and bake at 180°C for 10-15 mins.
