Warming, spicy and energizing, ginger tea has been used for years as a home remedy for warding off coughs, colds and flus and settling nausea and indigestion. It’s best not to boil ginger tea because much of the effectiveness is in the root’s volatile oils, which are lost through evaporation when the tea is boiled.

Pour boiling water over fresh ginger root, cover and allow to steep for 5-10 min. Strain and sweeten with honey if desired.
