This class is more of a workshop which will teach you how to practice yoga asanas with correct alignment. The teacher will be adjusting your alignment throughout the class. A flowing hatha yoga class, harmonising movement with breath to energise the body and focus the mind. It will increase your aerobic fitness, invigorate your body and deepen your asanas. An easy yoga class designed with the larger body in mind. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit in a slim trim yoga class this is the place for you. This is not a “diet club”, rather we are aiming to pass on the gift of yoga, which includes a healthier body, a more peaceful mind and a happier heart. As well as asanas we will be doing pranayama (breathwork) and meditation. Fridays at 11 am. If you haven’t been for a while, please check the website for possible cancellations.

Beautiful, heartfelt singing of sacred mantras accompanied by musical instruments like harmonium, guitar and drums. Kirtan is usually practiced as a call and response with one person leading the singing and everyone else joining in afterwards. Participation in Kirtan focuses the mind very easily and naturally on the beautiful spiritual sound vibrations, which have the effect reawakening one’s spiritual consciousness. Kirtan lifts the spirit and brings joy to the heart.

Practicing yoga asanas safely with the correct alignment can be daunting to people new to yoga as well as those with experience. We often can’t really tell if we are practicing the exercises correctly and we can form bad habits as the year’s progress.
In this series of alignment workshops we will learn the most popular yoga asanas. Experienced yoga teachers will be available to help to adjust your body, allowing you to achieve more benefits by safely going deeper into the pose and thereby enhancing your yoga experience.

Hatha Yoga has proven to be one of the most highly regarded approaches to managing the irregularities and discomforts associated with pregnancy and birth. This is because it works to balance and nourish the mother-to-be in a holistic fashion, all the while offering suitable modifications for each of the different stages of maternity. Yoga also offers the mother an opportunity to develop a heightened sense of mind and body awareness, while simultaneously nurturing them on an emotional and spiritual level.
In this workshop we will be exploring yogic techniques to help you stay comfortable, calm and connected throughout your pregnancy and birth. Partners are also welcome.
